Kettle on campfire – study

Print. Original is pastel on paper (collection of the artist).

Many of us, including me, have sat around campfires like this long into the night, drinking coffee and stuff, with absolutely no other humans around for many miles. I painted this because of many warm memories of sitting around a campfire with friends and family. This particular scene followed a hike up a high redrock ridge overlooking the Fraser River. This image is an example of where a print can be more intense than the original pastel, since the darks can be so much stronger.

This artwork is available as a reproduction in various sizes and by different methods (paper, metal, etc.).
